Under federal law, we are required to give you this privacy notice. It describes our privacy policy and practices concerning the personal information we collect and disclose about our member clients. It also includes information about the parties who receive our personal and sometimes nonpublic information from us, as we conduct the business of MEMBERS Trust Company.

Information we collect about you.

We collect and maintain nonpublic personal information about you as part of our servicing your account and administering your relationship. In the course of servicing you, we collect information about you from a variety of sources:

  • Information we receive from you on account forms and questionnaires.
  • Information about your transactions with us or experiences with affiliated companies.
  • Information we receive from an outside company, such as a credit bureau, regarding your credit history or employment status.

    Information about you we disclose.

    To protect our clients and members' privacy, we only work with companies that agree to maintain strong confidentiality protections and to limit the use of the information we provide. These disclosures typically include:

  • Information to process transactions on your behalf;
  • Information about your transactions with us or our affiliates and service providers;
  • Information from a consumer reporting agency;
  • Information needed to conduct the operations of our Trust Company;
  • Information based on your instructions as you authorize; and
  • Information provided to protect the security of our financial records.

    We do not permit these companies to sell the information we provide to other third parties.

    Parties who receive information from us.

    We may disclose nonpublic personal information about you to the following types of third parties:

  • Financial service providers such as: insurance companies and securities broker-dealers;
  • Non-financial companies that provide support services, such as data processors, financial statement publishers, technical systems consultants and programmers and companies which help us market our own products and services;
  • Our affiliates with whom we do business;
  • Others as permitted or required by law such as credit bureaus, government entities, in responding to subpoenas and other legal processes, and those with whom you have requested us to share your information.

    When MEMBERS Trust Company acts as Trustee or Fiduciary under a Trust, Estate or Guardianship, special restrictions and rules of confidentiality apply on sharing of information with outside parties. Trust account information is not shared for marketing purposes or any reason, without specific consent, or as required by applicable law.

    How we protect your information.

  • We maintain proper physical security of workplaces and records.
  • We restrict access to customer information to those who need to know this information to service your relationship with us.
  • We maintain physical, electronic and procedural safeguards which comply with federal regulations regarding protection of customer information.
  • We use advanced technology, such as backup files, firewalls, virus detection and eradication software, to protect against unauthorized access to customer data.

    Disclosure of information about former clients and members.

    If you terminate your account with MEMBERS Trust Company, we will not share information we have collected about you, except as may be permitted or required by law.
